Since the 1940s, Fairmont Royal Pavilion has been a haven on Barbados’ iconic West Coast, and in this episode, we meet a few of the people that ensure this legacy of luxury is upheld.
First, we spoke with General Manager, Jean-Cristophe, who is renowned in the luxury travel world and has been a fixture of Fairmont Royal Pavilion for several years. We then dined with Chef Jenelle who has elevated the experience at the beachfront Taboras restaurant to a fine art, blending traditional Bajan flavours with modern techniques. Finally, Director of Rooms, Michael, describes his journey to overseeing the teams who work together to make the magic happen.

The family-owned Coral Reef Club has become a favourite of the luxury hospitality scene in Barbados, and for this episode, we met with some of the people who work and live in the hotel.
Owner, Mark, grew up in the idyllic surrounds of the Coral Reef Club alongside his family, and reveals the fascinating heritage of one of the island’s longest established luxury resorts.
Next, Head Chef, Hance, shares his kitchen secrets and we discover how he ensures the dining experience is second to none, however you decide to indulge while staying there.
Finally, Karimah, the Rooms Division Manager, has become a familiar face at the resort – she shares how you can make the most of your time at Coral Reef Club.

“Are you ready for a Rum Punch?” | Discover Barbados with The Sandpiper

The Sandpiper has been a fixture of the luxury hospitality scene in Barbados for over fifty years, and is one of our Inspiring Travel favourites! So, for this episode, we visited this beautiful spot to meet some of the people who make this resort so special.
General Manager, Ken, has been leading the team at The Sandpiper for the past few years, and shares his experience joining this family-run resort, along with some of his favourite features of the hotel. Personal Concierge, Wyatt, has become a familiar face with the guests at The Sandpiper, and, alongside looking after the top suites at the hotel he has created something very special for guests to experience. Finally we sat down with Harold; the creator and iconic face of Harold’s Bar, and the maker of (apparently) the best rum punch in Barbados.
